ECUA will temporarily close a portion of Chisholm Road to perform sewer system maintenance. This work is preventive in nature and is being completed to help avoid potential issues in the future.
Work Location:
Chisholm Road, just south of JoJo Road
Closure Dates and Times:
Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. through
Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
During this time, a section of Chisholm Road will be closed to allow crews to safely abandon an air relief valve within an existing manhole on a 42-inch transmission force main.
Northbound Chisholm Road from East Johnson Avenue:
Traffic wishing to go northbound on Chisholm Road from East Johnson Avenue will be required to travel eastbound on East Johnson Avenue to Jernigan Road, then north on Jernigan Road to JoJo Road, then west on JoJo Road to Chisholm Road.
Northbound Chisholm Road from eastbound on Legacy Oaks Drive:
Traffic wishing to go northbound on Chisholm Road from Legacy Oaks Drive will be required to travel southbound on Chisholm Road to East Johnson Avenue, then eastbound on East Johnson Avenue to Jernigan Road, then north on Jernigan Road to JoJo Road, then west on JoJo Road to Chisholm Road. Residents and local traffic south of Construction Area on Chisholm Road between Legacy Oaks Drive and 8815 Chisholm Road will have access to Chisholm Road, but be required to only go southbound to East Johnson Avenue and take the detour north.
Southbound Chisholm Road from JoJo Road:
Traffic wishing to go southbound on Chisholm Road from JoJo Road will be required to travel eastbound on JoJo Road to Jernigan Road, then south on Jernigan Road to East Johnson Avenue, then west on East Johnson Avenue to Chisholm Road. Residents and local traffic north of Construction Area on Chisholm Road between JoJo Road and
8825 Chisholm Road will have access to Chisholm Road, but be required to only go northbound to JoJo Road and take the detour south.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time. ECUA appreciates the public’s patience as we complete this important maintenance work.
The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) has begun Phase 2 of the Pensacola Beach Reclaimed Water Main Project, a $4.5 million effort to expand the reclaimed and potable water systems across Pensacola Beach. Construction began September 22, 2025, and will continue through March 2026, enhancing water sustainability and conservation in the area. Work will include installing new reclaimed and potable water mains along Via de Luna and Pensacola Beach Road, with phased lane and sidewalk closures to ensure safety.
