Project EUAP or the Escambia Utility Assistance Program, was created in 1988 to allow public donations to assist elderly, disabled and/or fixed income ECUA customers who suddenly face a high utility bill they cannot pay. Medical emergencies, natural disasters, the sudden loss of a job, and other crises can all be factors contributing to a sudden financial loss.
Through Project EUAP, other ECUA customers may donate $1.00 (or more) per month on their monthly utility bill to help those in need. Larger, one-time donations are also welcome. Through the years, these donations have served a great need in our community to help families suffering financial hardship keep their utility services active.
All contributions to Project EUAP are used exclusively in the emergency relief fund and never to pay the program’s administrative expenses. The Salvation Army, the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, and the Council on Aging all work together to co-administer Project EUAP. These agencies reevaluate eligibility each time a request for help is received.
If you would like to see if you are eligible for assistance through Project EUAP, please contact one of the aforementioned agencies to apply.
