The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority announces that construction activities related to a new 12-inch ductile iron water main project along Perdido Key Drive are expected to begin Tuesday, May 26.
The project includes the installation of a 12-inch ductile iron water main within the south right-of-way of Perdido Key Drive, beginning approximately 1,300 feet east of the Flora-Bama. The project contractor, Roberson Underground, will manage material transport and initial work activities.
Construction will be conducted under shoulder closures throughout the project, with no roadway closures anticipated. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the area and to remain alert for workers and equipment.
To minimize impacts to residents and businesses, the contractor will coordinate directly with affected property owners regarding temporary driveway crossings. Driveways impacted during construction will be temporarily restored with gravel access until required pressure testing is completed, after which permanent asphalt patching will be performed.
The project is expected to be completed before the July 4 weekend, weather and construction conditions permitting.
ECUA appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this infrastructure improvement project.
