Every winter, many homeowners and business owners face the inconvenience and expense that come with frozen water pipes. As we ease from Autumn into Winter, now is a good time to review ways to protect household pipes from freezing temperatures.

Due to the prediction for icy roads tomorrow morning, the Perdido Landfill will be closed and is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday morning. Consequently, ECUA sanitation collections this week will be delayed by one day. Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday and the remaining weeks' collections will follow in the same manner until all collections are completed on Saturday. The westbound lane of Main Street from Clubbs Street to B Street will close to through traffic starting Monday, Feb. 22 for Emerald Coast Utilities Authority to replace a water main in the area.

A fire and explosion occurred at the ECUA Sanitation Complex on Godwin Lane this afternoon at approximately 2:35PM. ECUA’s first concern is for the safety and wellbeing of our employees. We are relieved and pleased that no one was injured.
