ECUA is committed to providing efficient and financially conservative service to our customers while upholding our duty to safeguard the utility’s future and our environment. While we have experienced moderate rising costs over the past few years, there have been record-setting inflation levels in 2022.
The ECUA Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) is closed following the failure of an essential piece of equipment on June 15. This equipment, the second of two aging conveyor belts, was slated for replacement in this fiscal year. The ECUA Board approved the $82,000 purchase of two new replacement belts at its February 2022 meeting.
ECUA is planning the replacement of two valves on the six-inch and eight-inch water mains located on Hernandez Street at 11th and 12th Avenues. The work will be done by a contractor, is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 24, and is expected to take approximately eight hours.
ECUA business offices will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. ECUA offices, including our Customer Service Department, will re-open on Tuesday, September 6, at 8:30 am.
UPDATE: 4.12.22 9:00 am Please note we've just received word from the Forestry Service that they have decided to cancel the permit to proceed with today's scheduled prescribed burn. ECUA will issue information when the operation is rescheduled. ----- The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) will be conducting prescribed burn operations on ECUA property in the vicinity of the Central Water Reclamation Facility (CWRF), starting on Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, April 15, weather permitting.
ECUA crews are currently onsite in the area of Springhill Drive and Crestwood Rd., working to repair a 12-inch water main.
