Effective immediately, the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority is issuing a system-wide Precautionary Boil Water Notice -PBWN- to its water system customers.

ECUA crews will begin smoke testing of the sewer collection system lines in the Pickwood Drive area beginning on Monday, August 3, to determine if there are areas where stormwater or groundwater are entering the sewer system. An overload of stormwater into the sewer system can lead to sewer system overflows (SSOs) during periods of intense rain.

The ECUA water system is now pressurized to the point that allows us to begin our sampling protocol, with approval from our partners at FDEP.

A significant water main break has occurred on Pensacola Beach and ECUA crews are unable to respond due to current storm conditions and the bridge closures.

ECUA crews completed repairs at Nine Mile Rd. / Hwy. 29 where a 16-inch water main was damaged by a construction contractor working on the Nine Mile Road project.
