Water Line Flushing Scheduled:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Water Line Flushing Scheduled Along Innerarity Point Road: October 28–31, and Possibly November 4–7

Residents along Innerarity Point Road, including Innerarity Island, are advised that water line flushing is scheduled to occur next week as part of preparations to place a new 12-inch water main into service. This work is part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement project aimed at increasing system reliability, particularly during hurricane events.

Flushing Schedule:

  • Primary Dates: Tuesday, October 28 – Friday, October 31
  • Possible Additional Dates: Tuesday, November 4 – Friday, November 7
  • Daily Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Water line flushing will begin on the newly installed water main along Innerarity Road. During this time, residents from Perdido Key Drive westward to Innerarity Island may experience temporary reductions in water pressure. These disruptions will only occur during daylight flushing hours.

This activity is a critical step in preparing the new water main for service and ensuring the quality and safety of the water supply.

About the Water Main Project:

  • Pipe Size: 6,000 feet of 12-inch Ductile Iron Water Main
  • Construction Cost: $2,000,000
  • Project Start Date: December 2024
  • Estimated Completion: End of November 2025
  • Service Area Impacted: All customers west of Grotto Avenue, including Innerarity Island

This new water main will bring increased redundancy and resilience to the area’s water system, improving service reliability during emergency situations such as hurricanes. It represents Phase 1 of a multi-phase effort to extend a 12-inch main down Innerarity Point Road to the booster station and storage tank at 13640 Innerarity Point Road.  At this time, no schedule has been set for future phases of the project.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your water infrastructure.
