ECUA's Bayou Marcus Boardwalk Announces Completion of Phase 1 and Start of Phase 2 on February 17, 2025
The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) is excited to announce that Phase 1 of the Bayou Marcus Boardwalk repair and replacement project will be completed on February 17, 2025, with the boardwalk section and Fayal Drive entrance reopening to the public. As part of this ongoing project, Phase 2 will commence immediately following the reopening.
Phase 1, which began on June 1, 2024, focused on repairs and updates to the section of the boardwalk west of the Alekai Drive entrance. The Fayal Drive entrance and the remaining sections of the boardwalk remained open throughout this phase, ensuring continued public access to much of the boardwalk.
Now that Phase 1 is complete, the Fayal Drive entrance and the boardwalk section connecting both entrances will close temporarily as Phase 2 gets underway. During Phase 2, the Alekai Drive entrance will be open, which is approximately the midpoint of the boardwalk. The Bayou Marcus Boardwalk repair and replacement project is expected to be fully completed within the next 5-7 months, depending on weather conditions.
We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we continue working to improve the Bayou Marcus Boardwalk experience. Updates on project progress and changes to access points will be communicated as needed. For more information, please visit the ECUA website or contact our customer service team.
