A sanitary sewer overflow occurred on May 13, 2026, in the vicinity of 555 El Cerrito Place due to a blockage in the sewer line that caused two manholes to overflow. The overflow was estimated at 5,100 gallons. Bacteriological sampling was conducted on Friday, May 15. 

ECUA crews cleared the blockage and cleaned the affected area with a biocide agent in accordance with state cleanup procedures. In accordance with standard operating procedures, ECUA notified the State Warning Point, the Escambia County Health Department, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection at the time of the overflow.
