A Sanitary Sewer Overflow -SSO- occurred on July 26, 2024, in the vicinity of 14335 Innerarity Point Rd. due to a break in a six-inch force main. The overflow was estimated at 700 gallons, of which 500 gallons were recovered and transported to an ECUA water reclamation facility for proper treatment and disposal. The overflow was contained onsite and bacteriological sampling was not required.

ECUA crews repaired the main and cleaned the overflow area with a biocide agent that abated any contamination concerns, per State protocol. In accordance with standard operating procedure, the ECUA notified the State Warning Point, the Escambia County Health Department, and the FDEP.
