A Sanitary Sewer Overflow -SSO- occurred on March 13, 2023, at 333 Gulfview Lane after a four-inch sewer force main was damaged by a contractor working in the area. The overflow was estimated at 3,500 gallons, of which 2,500 gallons were recovered for proper treatment and disposal. The overflow was contained on-site and bacteriological sampling was not required.

ECUA crews cleaned the overflow area with a biocide agent that abated any contamination concerns, per State protocol. In accordance with standard operating procedure, the ECUA notified the State Warning Point, the Escambia County Health Department, and the FDEP.
