Heavy Rain Accumulation Affecting ECUA Sanitation Collections

ECUA is receiving reports that some sanitation cans are floating off in areas that are flooded due to the heavy rain accumulation. The Perdido area appears to be especially affected although we are seeing this in many other pockets throughout our service area. Our drivers will be exercising extreme caution navigating the flooded areas, and reducing their speed to minimize the potential of creating wake as they drive the streets. Some collections will be delayed and routes may not all be completed today. In that event, routes will be completed tomorrow morning; tomorrow’s delayed routes will be completed the next day, etc. until routes are caught up on Saturday.

We appreciate our customers’ understand as our drivers work to complete all collections as safely and efficiently as possible under these difficult conditions. For more information, or to report a missing can, customers may contact our Customer Service Center at 850-476-0480 or by email at customer.service@ecua.fl.gov. Additionally, the Report-A-Problem feature in our Recycle Coach app may be used to report these concerns. The Recycle Coach app is available for free from the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store.
